Specialization:RESEARCH INTERESTS: Nutrient cycling and production dynamics of aquatic ecosystems, environmental controls of algal production, eutrophication, harmful algal blooms and hypoxia.
Relevant Experience:Recent studies have identified the importance and ecological impacts of land-based and atmospherically-derived nitrogen deposition in coastal environments and have led to the development of biodicators of human- and climatically-induced change in aquatic ecosystems regionally and word-wide; including ongoing projects in the Caribbean, Europe, and China.
