Specialization:Dr. Morgan is Director of the nascent Center for Latino Digestive Health at UNC, with clinical and research initiatives in Central America and North Carolina. His research interests include the epidemiology of FGIDs in the Latino population, gastric cancer epidemiology, and Latino digestive health.
Relevant Experience:He has extensive experience in Latin America and with the Latino population. He is a former Peace Corps engineer, having designed rural electrification systems in Honduras. In medical school, he served as US Public Health Service COSTEP volunteer at Migrant Farm worker clinics in the Rio Grande Valley.
Distinctions:Recipient of the American College of Gastroenterology’s Governor’s Award for Excellence in Clinical Research in October 2004.
